The PADI Advanced Open Water Dive course is designed to help individuals improve their scuba diving knowledge and skills beyond the Open Water Diver level. It can be taken immediately after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
The course focuses on developing confidence in navigation, fine-tuning buoyancy skills, and introducing participants to new diving activities such as wreck diving, night diving, or fish ID-ing. The course also includes a crew pack that covers dive theory, dive planning, and problem management.
To earn the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, participants must complete five Adventure Dives, including a deep dive beyond 18m/60F and a navigation dive. The remaining three Adventure Dives can be chosen from a list of options, which include underwater naturalist, fish ID and wreck dives.
The five dives are scheduled over two mornings and one afternoon. The navigation dive is done during an afternoon dive.
Completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is a significant step in advancing your diving knowledge and skills, and it opens up new possibilities for adventure and exploration in the underwater world.
